Outdoor classroom

On celebration of it being a 25 degree day in May, we decided to run an outdoor classroom for a lesson.  The students took their desks and devices and worked outside in the Sheppard courtyard.  It was a nice break from the indoors.





Tin foil sculptures

This week in room 12 we have been creating tin foil sculptures. We learned how to measure the foil out properly and sculpt it into something sporty, that links to our inquiry "The Human Machine".  After that we went into a sunny spot outside to find a shadow that we could outline, then colour in with marker.  Here are some examples of what we created:

Graffiti Wall

For our introduction to The Human Machine we researched facts and created a graffiti wall to display in the classroom.  We had to research our fact and check that it was true by referencing 3 sites.

Leaf Art

As it is Autumn, we thought we would use some of the leaves, sticks and other natural products found on the ground to create some leaf animals.  First we decided on our animal or mythical creature, then we planned out the leaves we would need to create our artwork.  Once we collected our leaves we glued them on to the paper (some required hot glue guns) and then presented our art.
