COLOUR SYMPHONY
The excitement started to hit everyone like a flash of lightning. Everyone was getting restless just thinking about what we were about to do. People crowded around the new playground waiting for instructions.
The leader was handed a piece of paper and everyone raced to see what was written on it. We dashed to get the shiny tray and splashed the glossy milk so it just covered the tray. After that specks of food colouring was dotted onto the milk and made it look like a paintball gun had been shoot into the milk.
As Bruno tipped the oozing detergent into the paintball looking milk everyone yelled out “Woooaah!“, as the colours turned into little mini explosions. Each colour looked like a rainbow exploding. We came up with an exciting idea to start blowing onto the colours and they exploded even more.
The dishwashing liquid puts up a fight to break down the fat in the milk. It breaks it down the same way that dishwashing detergent breaks down fat on our dishes. When we dropped the slimy, green dishwashing liquid onto the colouring on the milk it attempted to break down the milk. This made the colours explode and spiral around.
Overall the experiment worked very well and I am sure everyone would do it again. Everyone Had a very exciting time with this colour symphony.

Colour symphony!
Room 2 was a storm of excitement, we raced outside into the open air. We were all running around and some even jumping. Afterwards we all had to sit in our reading groups on the bright green grass. Everyone around me was wondering what was going to happen. It looked like Miss Hooper came out with a few pieces of paper and with two helpers carefully holding, 4 bright shiny trays, milk and 3 food colouring dyes:blue, yellow and red. What is it we are going to do?
A few people were staring at Miss Hooper. She walked towards the first reading group which is our group. Miss Hooper handed one of the mysterious pieces of paper to everyone in our group. We were all so desperate to read what it said. On the paper the text said all sorts of information from how to make this experiment, to the ingredients you need and how it works. Aramata, our leader, had to bring the bright shiny tray to fill the bottom of it with milk. She brought it back to our group with some food dye. Each of us had turns to drip and splotch 5-6 drops of the dye.’’Oh my gosh why did you do that?!’’ Joe shouted at Alex. Because Alex had pushed Joe’s arm, the food dye container landed in our experiment. Now the last ingredient, the liquid what is it going to do?
‘’WOAH’’ our group all yelled at once. The liquid made the colours look like it went Boom! Swish! And Swoosh! The colours mixed over and under each other. It reminded me of a rainbow splatted into milk, or paint all mixed up together.they were all swirling in different places.once the experiment is finished we all cleaned up and tipped the colourful milk into the ditch.
Once the experiment is finished we all cleaned up and tipped the colourful milk into the ditch. Everyones tray looked very different in a unique way, ours was navy blue, others were yellow and someone elses was red! Now it is back to normal writing.

Colour Symphony
For writing we are looking at recounts and using descriptive language. We performed an experiment to give us an interesting, shared experience to write about. Watch the blog for published writing on this soon...
