Congratulations to the following students who have worked hard all term to complete their science badge. It takes a lot of perseverance and time management to work on these projects and it is a credit to the students for completing them at the busiest time of the year. Keira; psychology, Nicole; psychology and entomology, Brooke; sports science, Lily; optics, Kennedy; food technology, Jordan; food technology and Imogen; psychology. I know a lot of students are wanting to pursue this opportunity in 2018 so I hope they make their aspirations become reality!

Financial Literacy and Capabilities Learning - Class Auction
Today Mike Hall came into Rm 10 to facilitate our class auction. We had a lot of fun with 25 items up for auction. Some students had a very healthy bank balance allowing them to purchase more than one item. Interest was generated through efficient use of savings accounts. Property investment also generated rent to help with mortgage repayments. Our 6 weeks of learning concluded today with some very powerful aspects. Well done Rm 10 for 100% commitment with this learning module. I am looking forward to reading your 'Big Think' enquiries that you have now completed.

Duane Kale - Assembly Guest Speaker
"Never give up and aspire to achieve" was the key message delivered at assembly by three-time Paralympic gold medallist, & Vice President of the International Paralympic Committee, Duane Kale.
"It won't matter, 100 years from now, what your bank account balance was, what sort of house you lived in, or what sort of car you drove. I think the most important thing is to make a difference to yourself but also make a difference to others." Thank you for sharing your inspirational story with us Duane & reminding us of our values, especially our value of resilience.

Science Badges - Term 4
It is exciting to note that 16 students in Rm 10 have chosen to work on completing a science badge this term. This is a big time commitment predominantly out of school hours but there is enormous motivation from Rm 10 students. Kennedy brought in her cottage cheese last Wednesday that she had made at home. She is completing learning tasks to complete her food technology science badge. Another example of the agentic learners in our class that are taking charge and driving their learning. I am a super proud teacher!
